Grrroomies UK is owned by Jane Laurie. From a young age I have been surrounded by beautiful animals, We have several cats who try to rule the house but despite their best efforts they failed to beat our much loved 16 old cocker spaniel dog called Spencer, who sadly passed away on the 25 September 2014- with the house not feeling like a home we took the plunge and became proud parents of a working cocker puppy in May 2015 … let the fun begin again!
Throughout his life there hasn’t been a day go by where Spencer was not there as our family friend and we continue to miss his presence in our family home.
As I grew up I knew that one day I would achieve my dreams by running my own business working with animals. It has been a long and challenging journey and along the way my husband has affectionately described me as ‘special’ largely because I have won a number of equestrian rosettes which prove it.
My ‘special’ award is also linked to my fear of flying, going fast on land or in the air and putting my head under water which have all seen me grasping the nettle by organising and then successfully completing a number of personal challenges for cancer related charities which have included:
My last dream involved two years of hard work competing in equestrian events around the country before successfully qualifying in 2011 for the Horse of the Year Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham with my thoroughbred cross Danish warm blood 15.2 riding horse, called Beau (but his posh name was Bozley). Against all odds and my wildest dreams we were placed 3rd in our class where I was then able to recognise my skills and abilities around being able to achieve in my life..
One of the most difficult decisions in my life since competing at HOYS in 2011 was to recognise what I have achieved and to look for a new challenge. I now love the fact that my office is my van, and my customers are all friendly and four-legged and recognise that this would not have been possible without my achievements with Beau, who now has a wonderful new home!
Having successfully completed an intensive dog grooming training course and an Animal Aiders First Aid Course I now focus on putting the customer first to deliver a professional service. I am confident that you will quickly recognise my natural skills combined with my genuine care, love and affection for your animals… and that we go on to form lifelong friendships.
